The chairs (Lot 471) have the original paper tags from the auction and are featured in the auction catalog that will be included in the sale. It has both detailed pictures of both chairs AND of them in situ in the residence at the time of his passing. There are distinctive marks on one of the arms that further confirms these are legitimately from the estate.
The chairs themselves are beautifully carved in walnut with silk covered cushions. They are in excellent condition other than the damage noted above. One of the cushions has a very light water? mark on it that has not been removed due to the previous provenance, we do not know when or where it came from.
There is not a Certificate of Authenticity from Julien's. I have an email from them stating they did not issue them, the paper tags and catalog photographs identify their authenticity.
Asking $1200 for the pair, which is on the very low end of their estimated values.
