This is my 1977 280Z for sale. It was not a rotisserie restoration, but the near equivalent took place over time. The engine and transmission were pulled out rebuilt and/or replaced with moderate modifications. All electronic components and sensors were replaced for reliability.
The exterior was mostly stripped to metal. Epoxy primer was applied and block sanded. The paint was Dupont base and clear. All glass was removed for painting with only the engine and dash area needing to be taped off.
The front and rear suspensions were removed, bead blasted and painted with enamel prior to reassembly. All the bushings were replaced with high performance bushings that were adjustable where possible. Tokico five way adjustable struts were installed.
The brakes were replaced with Wilwood units and the braking capability is phenomenal. A new brake master cylinder and booster from a 1983 280ZX were installed. Brake lines were replaced with stainless steel lines.
An aluminum flywheel was installed with a higher performance new clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing and rear main seal. Both master and slave cylinders were replaced with new ones.
The interior was completely removed. During the initial restoration I used black carpet. Recently I replaced it with tan. I installed a Momo steering wheel and shifter knob. There is a Pioneer CD player with multiple speakers. The stock tachometer was replaced with a five inch Monster tachometer. The turn signal indicators were relocated between the tachometer and speedometer for easy viewing. The turn signal assembly switch unit was replaced with a factory Nissan unit. The roll bar is welded into place for additional structural support.
This was a nut and bolt restoration that was ongoing for years starting in 2001. This is close to a new 280Z with all that has been replaced. It also has the original AC system in it and it works.
Most restoration work was done by me. Engine and drive train components were rebuilt by the mechanics at Surfside Japanese Auto Parts. I have receipts for all parts purchased. The restoration and repairs have been well documented with pictures that I would be happy to review with a potential buyer.
There are no test drives, but I would be happy to take interested individuals for a ride. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. I can be reached at show contact info
