A vintage, rare and beautiful Collins 51S-1 Short Wave Receiver (with the desirable late model round emblem) in near mint condition. Factory Manual included. Covers AM standard broadcast through 30 MHz, continuous coverage. This is one of the best high quality, high end (expensive) short wave receivers ever made! I have owned several of these, and they are an outstanding short wave receiver. When first produced, it was the receiver of choice for embassies, the intelligence community, and U.S. and foreign government agencies, including the U.S. military. I first used one when I was in the Air Force in the in the 1960s, and fell in love with it. They were state of the art and expensive when first produced in the early 1960s, and are still very desirable collectors items today. Its performance is still good, it has a beautiful classic look, and outstanding, classic audio. Makes an outstanding addition to an amateur radio shack! Vintage radio - sold as-is where-is, no warranty. No checks, cash or PayPal only. Local pickup only, it's too heavy to ship economically.
