You absolutely must be on time, if you show up late you won't be put to work
I am hiring setup/breakdown help this weekend at the oddities and curiosities expo at tulsa expo square
You must be available Friday Saturday and sunday. The job pays at completion of Sunday so if you don't show up for each shift I will be unable to pay you. Payment is NOT daily and no advances are available. Payment is Sunday night after load out is finished. NO EXCEPTIONS. Unfortunately I have to do this because we have had issues with people flaking after Friday.
Friday May 8th 11am-5pm.
YOU MUST BE INSIDE THE CONVENTION CENTER BY 11am. allow time to find parking and find your way into the building. I can not help you find parking
Sunday may 10th 5-8pm
Those hours are a must
In addition to setup and breakdown you will work one of these two shifts
Saturday may 9th 9am-4pm
Sunday may 10th 11am-5pm
You must be inside the convention center daily by the hours posted.
This is a fast paced job, you will always be free to use the bathroom, grab a drink, grab a snack but if you need to take multiple smoke breaks a day, this isn't the job for you. Unfortunately setup and breakdown is on a limited time schedule and expo show hours has thousands of people in the hall so you won't be able to leave to take a lunch break. I do provide some drinks and snacks but be prepared to pack a lunch
This job is basically unloading a truck and trailer, totes and racks on wheels. Some semi heavy lifting is required. As long as you aren't on a weight lifting limitation you'll be fine. Unpacking and setting up items. Organizing, Pricing, general cleanup.saturdays are crowd control, helping customers with questions and restocking and cleaning the booth.
Please no drug/alcohol use that would negatively effect your job performance. If you need more than one smoke break during the day, this job is not for you
Experience in things like expos, trade shows, vending events, customer service, crowd control, security etc is helpful but not required.
If you're a collector of strange things or other adjacent type stuff and would attend a show like this that's also a bonus. You will get a lanyard that gets you into the show free if you'd like to enjoy the show after your shift or the day you won't be working the show hours.
My booth has skulls and bones and things in jars, lots of strange and unusual items. if you're squeamish this is not the job for you
I generally select candidates in the late afternoon/early evening Thursday. People often drop out Friday morning and throughout the weekend so I often send texts Friday-sunday to offer the position to back ups. If you don't hear back Thursday you likely didn't follow the directions or I hired everyone I need. I am unable to respond to everyone
Remember this is a job interview so send a picture of yourself, confirm you are available for all hours and tell me any experience you might have that would help you in this job as well as any other information you think I might need. This is an independent contractor position. Pay is $15 per hour, no withholdings taken out. I can pay cash or venmo/cashapp
No dress code, Friday and Sunday night are not open to the public so dress for work, Saturday and Sunday day shifts are open to the public. Dress comfy or let your freak flag fly, whatever you want. No tools needed, I provide everything needed.
