Autograph does need battery because it has been sitting in the closet unused since I bought it new. A 3.6V battery runs $6.92 and can be purchased online here:

Automate is a 28 band, 1/3 octave graphic equalizer that is the companion to the Peavey Autograph. It can be used as a slave equalizer that tracks EQ changes made on the Autograph or as an independent equalizer that is remotely controlled from the Autograph.
