Vintage 1970s Cortez Stra tocaster. VG refurbished condition. Made at the Matsumoku plant. No issues.
Solid sen ash body 1-3/4 inches thick and naturally aged with dings, dents and scratches. Finished in nitro.
Includes the original Alnico V pickups which I have added new leads to and wax potted. Awesome vintage bell like tones and shimmering highs!
I have upgraded the bridge to a MIM with a large trem block and steel stamped saddles (2-1/6 inch string spacing). Bridge is anchored. If, however, you want it floating, I can adjust it beforehand
The medium C shaped maple neck is finished in nitro and includes the original tuners that hold tuning. Vintage style frets with some wear, but nonetheless still good. Plays smoothly in all positions with no buzzes utilizing a medium/low action. Full 25.5 inch scale.
The neck is ideally suited for a player desiring a narrower width if, for example, you have smaller than average hands. The string spacing is 2-1/16 inches at the bridge with a 38mm nut profile (1-1/2 inches).
The electronics have been upgraded to three CTS 250k pots, an Oak Grigsby 3-way switch, a vintage .047uf tone cap and a Switchcraft jack.
Overall, a terrific sounding guitar from the 1970s with the original pickups and upgraded electronics. Set up and ready to play!
