"Democrats win 3 more special elections tonight." By Akayla Gardner
Tonight, three Democratic lawmakers notched special-elections wins in Pennsylvania and Maine.
Democrat Scott Harriman beat out his Republican opponent, Janet Beaudoin, in a Maine state House district race that attracted attention from key national figures, including DNC Chairman Ken Martin and Sen. Susan Collins, who endorsed Beaudoin.
In Pennsylvania, Democrats Ana Tiburcio and Jennifer Mazzocco prevailed in their bids to join the statehouse, holding onto seats that were largely considered safe for the party.
According to a DNC spokesperson, Democrats have won or overperformed in 251 out of 281 key elections since Trump took office.
