**Project Overview**
Seeking an experienced network wiring and network hardware technician to assist another tech to convert multiple storage facility sites in the Tulsa Metro. The scope includes running new cabling and installing new equipment alongside the existing setup.
One technician will focus primarily on cabling, while the second will focus on equipment installation. **Important:** Do not perform any work that could affect or disrupt the existing systems. Upon completion, both the legacy system and the new system will run concurrently.
**Cabling Technician Responsibilities**
- Assess cable pathways to determine if there is sufficient room in walls/raceways for new cable runs. Reference the provided installation document outlining the 4 possible cabling scenarios.
- If the existing raceway has sufficient capacity, run new cables from the Public Storage network equipment to the counter fixture (location of the existing POS-PC). Cables required: new PC, phone, printer, and iPad.
- If the existing printer is not at the same counter, run and install the additional cable run to the printer’s location.
- Use existing paths or raceways whenever possible.
- Install a long patch cable for the new access point.
- Dress, terminate, label, and test all new cables.
- Label surface mount boxes using a label maker.
- None of the existing equipment can be unplugged from the network or power during this work.
- Assist the equipment technician with any 2-person tasks as needed. Once cabling is complete, assist with equipment installation.
**Equipment Installation Technician Responsibilities**
- Lead the installation of new equipment and patch it into the network.
- The POS technician will assist the cabling technician with any required 2-person tasks.
- Install new equipment beside the existing equipment without disturbing any legacy devices.
- New equipment to be installed includes (but is not limited to): PC, keyboard/mouse, payment terminal, Magtek check reader, printer, iPad, IP phone, and access point.
- Once installation is complete, both the old and new networks will run concurrently at the site.
- Assist with final validation and testing as required.
**Project Deliverables**
- Complete all cabling and equipment installation per specifications. A project PDF will be provided.
- Provide full documentation and photos of the completed work via the CompanyCam checklist. Login will be provided.
**Requirements**
- Proven experience with low-voltage cabling, network installations, and POS/equipment setups.
- Ability to work cleanly and professionally in an active retail environment.
- Tools and equipment necessary for cable termination, testing, and labeling. We can provide some industry specific tools if needed.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to “do not disturb existing systems” protocol.
