Job Summary
We are looking for a Maintenance Mechanic to support equipment operations at our Broken Arrow precast plant. This role will focus on maintaining and servicing semi-trailers, diesel trucks, semis, and other plant-related equipment.
This is a great opportunity for someone with general mechanical knowledge who is willing to learn. We are open to training the right person as long as they have a solid understanding of basic mechanics, tools, and equipment maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
The Maintenance Mechanic will assist with inspection, repair, and preventative maintenance of plant and transportation equipment, including:
Inspecting semi-trailers, diesel trucks, and semis
Identifying unsafe or worn tires and knowing how to spot a bad tire
Inspecting, repairing, and replacing air lines
Inspecting and replacing airbags
Greasing equipment components
Changing oil and performing basic fluid maintenance
Performing routine preventative maintenance
Assisting with basic diesel truck and trailer repairs
Keeping maintenance areas clean, organized, and safe
Reporting equipment issues to supervisors
Following all company safety procedures
Qualifications
Qualified candidates should have:
General mechanical knowledge
Experience using basic hand tools and power tools
Willingness to learn diesel truck, semi, and trailer maintenance
Ability to inspect equipment and identify maintenance needs
Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
Ability to work safely in a plant and yard environment
Preferred Experience
Experience with any of the following is helpful, but not required:
Semi-truck or trailer maintenance
Diesel equipment maintenance
Tire inspection
Air line or airbag replacement
Preventative maintenance
Oil changes and greasing components
Plant or heavy equipment maintenance
Physical Requirements
This position may require standing, bending, lifting, climbing, working outdoors, and working around heavy equipment. Candidates must be comfortable working in a precast plant and yard environment.
