We are currently looking for a qualified candidate with direct freight brokerage experience to join our team.
This position requires someone who understands the brokerage side of transportation, including carrier compliance, load board usage, carrier sourcing, vetting, and rate negotiation. While dispatch experience is helpful, freight brokerage dispatch is different from other dispatch roles, so direct brokerage experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
Source, contact, and build relationships with reliable carriers.
Use load boards to post loads, search for capacity, and secure carriers.
Vet carriers to ensure they meet company and compliance requirements.
Review broker and carrier compliance documents.
Negotiate rates with carriers based on market conditions and load requirements.
Coordinate load details between customers, carriers, and internal staff.
Track shipments and provide updates as needed.
Resolve issues related to delays, carrier availability, rate changes, or paperwork.
Maintain accurate records of carrier communication, load details, and compliance information.
Support daily freight brokerage operations.
Requirements
Direct freight brokerage experience is required.
Experience using load boards.
Knowledge of carrier sourcing and vetting.
Understanding of broker and carrier compliance.
Experience negotiating rates with carriers.
Strong communication and follow-up skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and organization.
Preferred Experience
Previous experience as a freight broker, brokerage dispatcher, carrier sales representative, or logistics coordinator.
Knowledge of transportation paperwork, carrier packets, insurance requirements, and rate confirmations.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working directly with carriers, reviewing compliance requirements, negotiating rates, and helping move freight efficiently. This role is best suited for someone with hands-on freight brokerage experience who understands the difference between brokerage dispatch and other types of dispatch positions.
