Tulsa Grandma- If you see this and are able to travel to California, we would love to have you for the holidays. I am a single, older mom/teacher to two sons; one is disabled. My own mother died in 1995 and my boys other grandmother ... well, we do not see her too often. Her kids have a ton of children and she is quite busy with them. You don't have to bring gifts OR cook. We can take you out to a Christmas dinner and then watch movies! :-) I know how hard it is getting older ... no fun. As I said, my mom passed away in 1995 and my father committed suicide in 2014. We have a pretty tragic family history but my two sons are awesome! Both in college, one married, and both sons great kids. Well... the offer is open if you are still looking. We would also be open to being a penpal or something. My father was very lonely in his last days and my kids and I have always tried to be there for the elderly. We used to take donations to the old folks home at Christmas when the boys were growing up. Hmmm... we should do that again this year! Beat of luck to you!!! Everyone needs to feel loved and wanted... not just at Christmas but year around. I called my dad nearly every day the last ten years of his life. Bless you, grandma!
